Today I am launching a new consumer campaign – Sort It, Southeastern – to secure much-needed change in the atrocious service that commuters across Greenwich receive.

I’m pleased to have been asked to blog on local affairs from time to time for Greenwich.co.uk, and today I have written my first post on it’s new multi-author blog on my approach to the coming General Election campaign in Greenwich & Woolwich, some of the challenges we face and why the “the culture of Greenwich politics” really does need to change. As has been pointed out, you wait an age for a mutli-author blog to come along and then two turn up at once – as this week has also seen the launch of the promising Royal Greenwich Time blog bringing together alternative voices to the council’s taxpayer-funded organ of a similar name from across the political spectrum. I am thrilled to report that last night I was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Greenwich & Woolwich for the coming General Election.

It is a huge honour to be given the opportunity to stand in this wonderful constituency and in the place I am proud to call home.  In a borough that has been dominated by Labour for too long, residents in Greenwich and Woolwich need a strong voice – and I am determined to provide the representation they need.
