I’m delighted to report that Greenwich Conservatives have selected long-standing local campaigner Thomas Turrell as our candidate for the Greenwich West council by-election being held on the same day as the General Election. There are full details on the Greenwich Conservatives website here.
For Greenwich West residents, Thursday 7th May is a real chance to strengthen our local democracy by electing a new MP – and now, a new local councillor – who will put residents first. That’s what would do in Parliament – and that’s what the ward needs in the Town Hall too. Having already shown what he can do for residents, most recently through his successful campaign to improve capacity on one of Greenwich’s busiest bus routes last year, I know that Thomas would be a first-class councillor.
We got the by-election campaign off to a flying start this evening on the doorstep in the ward. I look forward to working with him as we both make our case to the voters over the next 44 days!
