Please note this post is from my previous blog. To read my posts during the 2017 General Election campaign click here.
It’s been 6 busy days since I was selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Greenwich & Woolwich, and I’ve been working hard to get my campaign up and running and off to a flying start.
The News Shopper, Mercury (page 10) and Greenwich.co.uk have all reported the news (but don’t expect to see it in Greenwich Time anytime soon…), and I’ve also been deluged by very kind messages of support – including many from some very unexpected places!
Last night the team and I kicked off our campaigning in Greenwich, knocking on doors in and around Burney Street, with lots of people pleased to see some opposition out and about. One resident seemed slightly amused to see that I’m “starting early” – with 281 days to go and 67,000+ voters in the constituency, he soon understood!
Today I’m pleased to launch this new campaign website so that residents can keep up to date with my campaign, and get in touch (the posts I have been writing for the last year on my previous blog are still here too). We will be adding to the site over the next few weeks.
I hope readers find the site useful, and I look forward to keeping it up to date with news from the campaign trail – and the council chamber – over the next nine months.
